01 · Ritual Essential for Women 18+
Bioavailable nutrient forms, USP-verified testing, and traceable ingredient sourcing.
Ritual is the only multivitamin in our 2026 evaluation that combines four meaningful ingredient quality decisions: methylated B-vitamins, chelated iron, USP-verified third-party testing, and traceable ingredient sourcing. Each of those individually is uncommon. Together they're rare.
Bioavailable nutrient forms
The Essential 18+ formula uses methylcobalamin for B12 and methylated folate (5-MTHF) for folate. These are the active forms that the body uses directly, no enzymatic conversion required. For the roughly 40% of women with MTHFR gene variants who convert folic acid inefficiently, this distinction is meaningful. Iron is delivered as iron bisglycinate (a chelated form) at 8 mg, supplementing without the GI discomfort of higher-dose ferrous sulfate.
Verified sourcing and testing
Ritual publishes the origin country and manufacturer for each ingredient in the formula. The finished product is third-party tested for purity, identity, potency, and contaminants. This is the level of supply chain visibility most supplement brands do not provide.

"If you only want to take one multivitamin and you care about the form quality of what's actually in it, Ritual is the strongest evidence-led pick. The 9-ingredient minimalism is a feature, not a bug."
