Editorial Team & Standards

EvidenceFirst Health was built to apply clinical-review rigor to the consumer supplement market. Here's who's behind it.

Mission

The supplement industry is structured against the consumer. Marketing budgets dwarf research budgets. Front-of-bottle claims are loosely regulated. The most-recommended products are usually the ones with the highest affiliate payouts, not the strongest evidence.

We started EvidenceFirst Health because we wanted a place where supplement reviews follow the same rigor as a clinical-journal review article: structured methodology, transparent scoring, and full citation of underlying research.

Every review on this site goes through the same six-step process. The scoring rubric is the same for every product. The methodology is published openly. The studies we reference are listed by name.

Editorial Values

We don't credit a brand for "contains Lactobacillus" when the relevant clinical research is on a specific strain like L. rhamnosus GR-1. Strain-specific evidence is what we score against.

CFU at manufacture is meaningless if the strains die in stomach acid. We weight products that publish CFU at expiration and use acid-resistant capsule technology.

Affiliate commission rates are nearly identical across the brands we cover (4-8% on most retailers). Our rankings reflect evidence, not payouts.

Every published review is revisited quarterly. Pricing, formulation, and new entrants are checked. Outdated reviews are flagged or rewritten.

EvidenceFirst Health publishes consumer-facing reviews of supplements available without a prescription. Nothing on this site is medical advice. Anything that requires medical input should go to a qualified provider.
